VIQU got in touch to help with the relaunch of an established recruitment company in the energy and utilities sector they were about to take over. I’ve worked with the VIQU team before, so we already had a good working relationship and a solid starting point for shaping this new side of the business.
The design process was collaborative and iterative, shaped around the new brand as it evolved, whilst being influenced by the VIQU IT website. The aim was to create a clean, modern interface that felt approachable but still professional—something that reflected both the industry and the personality behind the brand and team.
One of the highlights was bringing in Jim Rodgers' new illustrations. They added a friendly, human feel to the site, and we made the most of them through layout and subtle interactions—making sure they added character without getting in the way of the content.
I delivered a full set of large-screen designs, along with selected mobile views to help guide the developer through the responsive layout. I also put together a simple annotated style guide covering the core components, plus how the header and footer adapt across screen sizes.
Development was handled by George McCann, who worked directly with the team at VIQU to bring it all together.
